Message from Chairman Johnson The mandatory meeting of the state committee of the Arizona Republican Party met on January 26th in Glendale. Members attending from Mohave County were State Senator Ron Gould, Janice Gould, Paul Frame, Brenda Frame, Don VanBrunt, Roy Dunton and myself. Also attending from Mohave County was State Representative Trish Groe. We carried nine proxies. Some very informative speeches were given regarding the state of our country and state. A letter was read from our Congressman Trent Franks. It had a powerful message. Shari Farrington and other staff members from Congressman Franks office were in attendance. We adopted our State Platform, copy on our webpage. I encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with this document. Other resolutions were passed and you can view those on the State Party’s webpage. All in all it was a good meeting but I was disappointed in the turn out of our elected officials, with the exception of our County which had by far the best with two of our three state officials and Congressional Representative. Our federal officials were all absent. The support of our Party and our ideals is critical in the coming election. Our elected officials are in office because of the work of our grassroot Republicans and they should give the Party and workers the respect and gratitude they deserve. No one is above the Party. There were also a lot of candidates for office attending. We picked up literature from them and it will be available at County Headquarters. The election of our State Party Officers was a white ballot. |
